Course Objectives
In this Load Balancing course (MAE-CTT-BCA), students will learn to implement and optimize various load balancing techniques in MikroTik networks.
The main goal is to provide students with the skills necessary to improve the performance, efficiency and reliability of their networks using appropriate balancing methods.
Chapter 1: Introduction to Load Balancing
In this chapter, students will learn the main function of balancing methods, such as Bonding, and how to update RouterOS to the latest version.
This will provide them with a solid foundation for the rest of the course and will allow them to understand the importance of load balancing in networks.
Chapter 2: ECMP
In the ECMP chapter, students will explore its features and the “Check-Gateway” option. Symmetric and asymmetric balancing will be discussed, as well as the differences between ECMP in RouterOS v6 and v7.
Finally, students will apply their knowledge in practical ECMP balancing and asymmetric ECMP balancing laboratories.
Chapter 3: PCC
This chapter focuses on the PCC method for load balancing. Students will learn about the PCC technique, load balancing using PCC, the differences between Mark-Routing in RouterOS v6 and v7, and routing policies in RouterOS v7.
Additionally, practical examples and laboratories will be provided to reinforce learning.
Chapter 4: Nth
In the last chapter, students will learn about the Nth method for load balancing, how packets are labeled in Nth, and how the NTH balancer works.
Students will put their knowledge into practice in NTH balancing laboratories, allowing them to consolidate their learning and apply these techniques in real-world situations.
By the end
Upon completion of the MAE-CTT-BCA course, students will be trained to implement and configure load balancing methods, such as ECMP, PCC, and Nth, in MikroTik network environments.
Additionally, they will gain a deep understanding of the features and options available in current versions of RouterOS and will be able to apply this knowledge to improve the performance and management of their networks.
