Course Objectives
Train students in the use and configuration of VRRP in MikroTik RouterOS, providing them with theoretical knowledge and practical skills to improve network availability and management.
Chapter 1: Introduction to VRRP
- Understand the fundamentals of VRRP in MikroTik, including key concepts such as Virtual Router, Virtual MAC Address, Owner, Master, and Backup roles, and Virtual Addresses.
- Learn about ARP in IPv4 and ND in IPv6 related to VRRP.
- Understand the VRRP State Machine and the different states: Init, Backup and Master.
Chapter 2: VRRP Properties
- Learn how VRRP reduces complexity and improves network availability and management.
- Understand the General Properties of VRRP and its importance in network configuration.
- Learn about VRRP Authentication and how it increases network security and availability.
Chapter 3: VRRP Configuration
- Acquire practical skills in configuring VRRP for IPv4 and IPv6.
- Understand and practice different VRRP configurations, including Basic Configuration and Load Sharing.
- Understand the key limitations and considerations in implementing VRRP.
- Conduct practical laboratories to strengthen understanding and application of knowledge.
Benefits upon Completing the Course:
By the end
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- Efficiently implement and manage VRRP in network environments using MikroTik RouterOS.
- Improve network availability and redundancy through the application of the concepts and techniques learned.
- Troubleshoot and optimize VRRP configuration for different network scenarios.
- Apply practical knowledge in real configurations through the experience acquired in laboratories.
This course is ideal for IT professionals looking to specialize in network configuration and administration using MikroTik RouterOS and wish to deepen their understanding of VRRP.
