Course Objectives
The overall goal of the MAS-WOS (MikroTik Introduction to Wireless) course is to provide students with a solid understanding of MikroTik wireless technologies and how to configure and optimize wireless networks using RouterOS.
Additionally, the course focuses on troubleshooting, performance analysis, and security in wireless environments.
Chapter 1: scan-list
In this chapter, students will learn about the features and configurations of different wireless protocols, standards, bands, channel widths, and supported frequencies. In addition, the concept of “scan-list” will be introduced and practical laboratories will be carried out to understand its operation.
Chapter 2: Analysis of the log table for troubleshooting
It focuses on log table analysis to troubleshoot wireless clients. Students will learn to interpret parameters such as ccq and frames vs. hw-frames, and will carry out laboratories to evaluate them with and without load.
Chapter 3: Modifying “data-rates” and transmission powers (tx-power)
Participants will explore how to modify data-rates and transmission powers (tx-power) to stabilize wireless connections. They will study the base and supported rates of different standards and learn about rate flapping and tx-power configuration.
Chapter 4: Virtual AP to create multiple APs
This chapter covers creating multiple APs using Virtual AP. Concepts such as Virtual Clients and Repeaters are also discussed. A practical laboratory on Virtual AP will be carried out.
Chapter 5: Managing access to the AP and Clients using Access-List and Connect-List
Students will learn how to manage access to the AP and clients using Access-List and Connect-List. They will conduct labs to apply these concepts to AP and client configurations.
Chapter 6: Protecting Wireless Clients from “de-authentication” and “MAC cloning” attacks
We will study how to protect wireless clients from “de-authentication” and “MAC cloning” attacks through the use of Management Frame Protection. Participants will configure and test management protection in a hands-on lab.
Chapter 7: Nstreme Protocol
This chapter introduces MikroTik's Nstreme protocol, its features and how it works with different frameworks. Students will perform labs to analyze traffic using Nstreme and NV2.
Chapter 8: CAPSMAN
Finally, CAPsMAN, its function, version 2 and how CAP connects to CAPsMAN will be introduced. Students will learn about L2-MAC layer and IP layer (UDP) connections to end the course with a complete understanding of MikroTik wireless technologies.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to design, implement and maintain MikroTik wireless networks efficiently and securely.
