This book aims to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to efficiently manage users and services on a network using RouterOS. To achieve this, the book addresses different key topics related to user management, tunnels, hotspot and the use of the User Manager.
Chapter 1: Tunnels
In the Tunnels chapter, the focus is on providing a complete understanding of their operation and configuration, exploring in detail the use of user profiles and the user database, as well as IP address assignment and security settings.
Different protocols such as PPPoE, Multilink PPP, PPTP, L2TP and EoIP are also explored.
Chapter 2: HotSpot
The Hotspot study focuses on providing a detailed understanding of this feature of RouterOS, covering topics such as user configuration, the use of cookies for authentication, and Walled Garden configuration.
In addition, aspects related to the configuration of IP Bindings and the HTML Directory are addressed.
Chapter 3: User Manager
The User Manager chapter aims to provide a complete understanding of this RouterOS component and its integration with the Hotspot, detailing the installation of the User Manager and client management.
