Course Objectives
The MTCTCE course focuses on providing participants with the knowledge necessary to configure and manage key aspects of the network using MikroTik devices. Through the different chapters, students will learn about DNS, DHCP, firewall, NAT, mangle, HTB, queues, proxy, TTL and load balancing, among other topics.
The practical laboratories will allow participants to apply the concepts learned in a real environment and reinforce their understanding of them.
DNS
Explores the importance of Domain Name System (DNS) in networking, how to configure and manage DNS cache on MikroTik devices, monitor and delete DNS cache, introduction to static DNS entries, complete with review questions and hands-on labs about transparent DNS and static DNS.
DHCP
Details how the DHCP protocol works, identifying and configuring DHCP clients, configuring DHCP for IPv6, managing IP address reservations, and hands-on labs on DHCP server and DHCP Relay configuration.
FirewallFilter
Covers packet flow in a firewall, flowchart analysis for layers 2 and 3, knowledge about automatic decisions in the firewall, firewall filter structure, connection tracking, TCP states, and hands-on firewall-specific configuration labs filter.
Firewall Filter – Chain Input
It focuses on the firewall ingress chain, mitigation of network intrusions such as port scans and DoS/DDoS attacks, ICMP framework, ping flood defense, and hands-on labs on ingress filters and network intrusion detection.
Firewall Filter – Chain Forward
Explore the firewall forwarding chain and its application, including hands-on labs on packet filtering.
Bogon IPs
Introduces bogon IP addresses, their importance in traffic filtering, and how to configure them in MikroTik.
NAT firewall
It covers the structure of the NAT firewall, dst-nat and redirect actions, limitations of Source NAT, NAT Helpers, configuring RAW in the firewall, and its relationship with mangle, along with practical dst-nat labs.
Mangle Firewall
It covers the concept of MSS (Maximum Segment Size), how to change it, marking packets and connections in the mangle firewall, and practical mangle labs.

Have a MikroTik account (mikrotik.com) allows the student to officially register for the Certification Course they are taking (the final registration is done by the Trainer on the first day of class)
Additionally, the Certification Exam is taken through the MikroTik account and if passed, the digital certificate is deposited in said account.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), MikroTik authorized all Trainers to give Certification Courses ON-LINE
However, the Certification Exam must be taken in person, except for the Renewal Exam, which can be taken remotely through the system. MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.
If it is the first time that the exam for any certification is being given, it must be taken in person in front of the Trainer, this is by MikroTik regulations since it is necessary to verify who the person is who is going to give the exam.
On the day of the exam, the Trainer will take a group photo with the students and upload it to the MikroTik portal in order to activate the exam. If the photo is not uploaded, the Trainer will not be able to enable the exam.
If it is a Renewal Exam, then it can be taken remotely through the system MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.
