Course Objectives
The MTCSE (MikroTik Certified Security Engineer) Course is a comprehensive training program designed to help you master the fundamentals and best practices in computer security with MikroTik.
Through a combination of theory and practical labs, this course will prepare you to meet network security challenges and effectively protect systems against increasingly sophisticated threats.
Chapter 1: Introduction
The basic principles of computer security are presented, including the security process, the types of threats and attacks, and the measures necessary to protect systems. This foundation establishes the foundation for understanding and applying effective security practices.
Chapter 2: Firewall
It delves into the importance and operation of firewalls, especially the stateful firewall and connection tracking. Through labs, you learn how to analyze traffic and configure your firewall to protect specific areas of the network, as well as how to prevent common attacks with custom configurations.
Chapter 3: Attacks on the Layers of the OSI Model
This chapter addresses attacks targeting different layers of the OSI model, such as MNDP, DHCP, TCP SYN, UDP Flood, ICMP Smurf, and brute force attacks. Strategies are offered to identify and mitigate these attacks, reinforcing network security.
Chapter 4: Cryptography
Cryptography, fundamental to network security, is explored, including symmetric and asymmetric encryption, public key infrastructure (PKI), and digital certificates, providing knowledge to secure communication in networks.
Chapter 5: Router Security
Advanced techniques for security of MikroTik routers are introduced, such as Port Knocking and SSH tunneling, and the importance of changing the default ports of services to improve security.
Chapter 6: Secure Tunnels
This chapter focuses on the configuration and security of encrypted tunnels such as L2TP, L2TP/IPsec, SSTP, and IPsec, teaching how to establish secure connections over public networks to protect transmitted data.
Chapter 7: Detailed Tunnels Labs Review
Provides a practical review of the different types of tunnels in MikroTik, such as IPIP, EoIP and PPTP, through laboratories designed to reinforce and consolidate the knowledge acquired, focusing on practical application and troubleshooting in real network environments.
By the end
You will gain the skills and knowledge needed to address network security challenges and become a MikroTik security expert.
Prepare to protect your systems effectively and stand out in the field of computer security.

Certification benefits:
- Professional Recognition: Earning MTCSE certification demonstrates a high level of competency in network security, a critical area in IT management.
- Advanced Skills: Participants gain advanced network security skills, which is essential for protecting IT infrastructures against emerging threats.
- Career Opportunities: Certification can open doors to new employment opportunities, promotions, and recognition within the IT industry.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), MikroTik authorized all Trainers to give Certification Courses ON-LINE
However, the Certification Exam must be taken in person, except for the Renewal Exam, which can be taken remotely through the system. MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.
If it is the first time that the exam for any certification is being given, it must be taken in person in front of the Trainer, this is by MikroTik regulations since it is necessary to verify who the person is who is going to give the exam.
On the day of the exam, the Trainer will take a group photo with the students and upload it to the MikroTik portal in order to activate the exam. If the photo is not uploaded, the Trainer will not be able to enable the exam.
If it is a Renewal Exam, then it can be taken remotely through the system MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.
For renew Any MikroTik Certification can be done remotely through the system MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.

La minimum grade is 60% over 100%.
If between 50% and 59% is obtained, the student has the right to a second opportunity to take a new exam, which must be taken at that same moment.
There is no third chance.
As soon as the exam is finished, the system automatically displays the grade.
Additionally, within the account managed by each student in MikroTik (mikrotik.com), in the left menu of said portal you will find the option MY TRAINING SESSIONS where you can view all the courses you have taken with their respective notes.
To retake the certification exam, you only have to pay the exam fee.
