Course Objectives
The MTCUME (MikroTik Certified User Manager Engineer) course aims to provide participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to efficiently and effectively manage users and services on a network using MikroTik's RouterOS platform.
Throughout the course, different key topics related to user management, tunnels, hotspot and the use of the User Manager are addressed.
Tunnels
This segment provides a detailed look at configuring and managing tunnels in RouterOS, starting with a general introduction to tunnels and their implementation in the system.
It focuses on the management of user profiles and the user database as crucial elements for access management.
Additionally, topics such as active user monitoring, remote authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA), IP address assignment, TCP MSS settings, and configuring MTU and MSS for PPP tunnels are covered.
Specific protocols such as PPPoE, Multilink PPP, PPTP, L2TP, and EoIP are explained, as well as security using IPsec, ESP, and authentication and encryption algorithms, providing guidelines for a secure configuration.
HotSpot
It focuses on the RouterOS HotSpot, explaining its operation and configuration. It covers user configuration, the use of cookies for authentication, and the Walled Garden configuration, which allows unauthenticated access to certain services.
Also covered are configuring IP Bindings to limit access to specific IP addresses, Hotspot Server management, Hotspot Server profiles, HTML Directory management, and troubleshooting possible error messages.
User Manager

The MikroTik MTCUME (MikroTik Certified User Management Engineer) certification course is an advanced training program offered by MikroTik for IT and networking professionals who wish to specialize in user management within the RouterOS environment.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), MikroTik authorized all Trainers to give Certification Courses ON-LINE
However, the Certification Exam must be taken in person, except for the Renewal Exam, which can be taken remotely through the system. MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.
If it is the first time that the exam for any certification is being given, it must be taken in person in front of the Trainer, this is by MikroTik regulations since it is necessary to verify who the person is who is going to give the exam.
On the day of the exam, the Trainer will take a group photo with the students and upload it to the MikroTik portal in order to activate the exam. If the photo is not uploaded, the Trainer will not be able to enable the exam.
If it is a Renewal Exam, then it can be taken remotely through the system MTCOPS implemented by MikroTik.
