Course Objectives
The course Bonding with MikroTik RouterOS (MAE-SWI-BON) is designed to equip students with a deep understanding and practical skills in implementing and managing bonding functionality on MikroTik devices.
This course aims to teach participants how to increase bandwidth, improve redundancy, and optimize load balancing of network connections by using various bonding techniques supported by RouterOS.
Chapter 1: Bonding Introduction
- Understand the main function of balancing methods.
- Learn the basic concepts and types of bonding.
- Know the different bonding modes and their applications.
- Perform a hands-on activity updating RouterOS to the latest version.
Chapter 2: Link Monitoring
- Understand the link monitoring methods available.
- Learn about ARP monitoring and its configuration.
- Go deeper into MII monitoring and how to implement it.
Chapter 3: Bonding Modes
- Study the 802.3ad (LACP) bonding mode, its operation and requirements.
- Learn how to configure the different bonding modes in MikroTik RouterOS.
- Know the features, advantages and limitations of modes such as Active Backup, XOR, Broadcast, TLB, ALB and Balance RR.
- Discover practical bonding applications for different network, redundancy and backup scenarios.
- Become familiar with good practices for configuring and debugging bonding connections.
By the end
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
Implement Bonding Strategies: Select and implement the most appropriate bonding strategy for different network environments and organizational needs.
RouterOS Advanced Configuration: Apply advanced configurations in MikroTik RouterOS to establish efficient and reliable bonding links.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Use monitoring tools and debugging techniques to maintain and troubleshoot bonding configurations.
Network Optimization: Improve network capacity and reliability through bonding to achieve optimal performance.
Apply Best Practices: Adopt good recommended practices and tips to manage and maintain robust and secure network links.
Preparation for Real Situations: Develop practical skills through examples and activities that simulate real situations and challenges in the world of networks.
Professional updating: Stay up to date with the latest versions of RouterOS and understand how to make the most of its new features in the context of bonding.
