Each user manages their own time policies.
When you configure User Profiles on a MikroTik Hotspot, and assign a limited usage time to that profile, the usage time behavior depends on how the profile is configured and how users are assigned to that profile.
If you have a profile with a set time, say 1 hour, and a user logs in using that profile, the timer will start for that specific user at the time of their authentication.
If another user logs in using the same type of profile (but a different account) after half an hour, their timer will start from zero at the time of their own authentication.
In short, each user has their own timer that starts when they authenticate, as long as different accounts are used.
However, if you are talking about sharing the same account between multiple users (which is generally not recommended for security and management reasons), the remaining profile time will be shared between all users who connect with that same account.
In this case, if the first user has consumed 30 minutes of the allotted time, when the second user connects, he would have the remaining profile time, that is, 30 minutes in the given example.
It is important to note that for effective time and access management in a MikroTik Hotspot, it is recommended to assign unique accounts to each user. This not only makes it easier to track time and bandwidth usage, but also improves security by preventing credential sharing.
For more advanced configurations, MikroTik RouterOS allows the creation of scripts and the use of its API to dynamically manage users and profiles, which could be of interest if you are looking to automate time allocation or implement specific access logic.
