Scenario
Local network
Configure LAN Network to be able to access the MikroTik Router through layer 3.
Entering through Layer 2 is a bit unstable
Then you must configure an IP address on your PC, which is within the same network segment.
Internet
We have 3 options by which we can configure the internet output.
- Automatic
- Static
- PPPoE
Automatic Internet
The Automatic option will do the following:
- It will create a DHCP-Client on the WAN interface (ether1)
- Configure DNS
- Set default route
Check
- New Terminal: ping 8.8.8.8
- New Terminal: ping google.com
Static Internet
With the Static Internet option we must manually:
- Configure a WAN address
- DNS setup
- Set default route
Check
- New Terminal: ping 8.8.8.8
- New Terminal: ping google.com
PPPoE Internet
With the internet option – PPPoE we:
- We connect to a PPPoE server
- It provides us with a connection on layer 2
- Manages WAN addressing automatically
