The “could not fetch index” error occurs when you try to log into a MikroTik computer with an older version of RouterOS that is not compatible with the version of WinBox you are using.
What you should do is use a previous version of WinBox compatible with the RouterOs version of the MikroTik device. To do this, you can access the MikroTik device via the web interface and download the winbox version that is displayed on the login page; Another option is to update the MikroTik device via CLI, Web or Netinstall.
