The commands that we can use to obtain spectrum information in mikrotik are the following:

/interface wireless spectral-scan wlan1

/interface wireless spectral-history wlan1

To view the electromagnetic spectrum on a MikroTik router, you can use the tool Spectrum Scan which is integrated into RouterOS, which is very useful for diagnosing and planning wireless networks. This tool allows network administrators to view activity on the frequency bands their Wi-Fi radios are using.

To use this tool, your MikroTik device must have a wireless interface that supports the spectrum scanning function. Here I indicate the basic steps to access and use this function:

1. Access the MikroTik Command Line Interface (CLI):
   • You can do this directly through the console if you have physical access, or remotely using SSH or Telnet.
2. Identify the wireless interface:
   • Use the command interface wireless print to list all available wireless interfaces and find the name of the interface you want to examine.
3. Start Spectrum Scan:
   • To start a spectrum scan, use the command:
     
     interface wireless spectrum-scan [interface-name]
     
     Replaces [interface-name] by the actual name of your wireless interface.
4. interpret the results:
   • Once you start the scan, you will see a real-time graph showing the activity at the different frequencies. The scan will provide information on the strength of signals detected on different channels, which is crucial for identifying congested channels or interference.
5. Additional options:
   • You can also specify additional parameters such as the scan duration or a specific range of frequencies. See the MikroTik documentation for details on additional options.

It is important to mention that while performing a spectrum scan, the selected wireless interface will no longer function as an access point or client, since it is being used to perform the scan. Make sure you plan for this appropriately to avoid interruptions to your service.
