Yes, it is possible to downgrade the RouterOS version on your MikroTik devices, even if you have updated to version 6.47.1.
We explain how you can do it:
- Download the desired version: First, you need to download the RouterOS package of the version you want to downgrade to. This can be done from the official MikroTik website. Be sure to select the version that is compatible with your specific device model.
- Upload the packet to the Router: You can upload the package file (.npk) to the router via FTP, WinBox, or WebFig. In WinBox, for example, you simply drag and drop the file into the device's file window.
- Restart in safe mode: Before proceeding with the downgrade, it is advisable to restart the device in safe mode. This allows you to revert the changes if something goes wrong during the downgrade process. You can activate safe mode in WinBox by clicking on the “Safe Mode” button in the top bar.
- Package Installation: Once the file is uploaded, go to “System” > “Packages” and select “Install” from the “New Packages” tab. This will start the installation process of the previous version package.
- Reboot and verification: After installing the package, the system will need to reboot. Make sure the device reboots properly. Once rebooted, you can check the RouterOS version in “System” > “Packages” to confirm that the downgrade was successful.
- Configuration and testing: After downgrade, check your system configuration and make sure everything is working as expected. It may be necessary to adjust some settings that may have been altered or not fully compatible with the previous version.
It is important to note that downgrading may affect device configuration and compatibility with certain features. Also, be sure to back up your settings before proceeding to avoid losing important settings.
